Special Area Teachers

Mr. Jeff Dyke

My name is Jeff Dyke and I am entering my ninth year teaching physical education at Warren Elementary School. I received my teaching degree from McDaniel College, where I also played four years of college baseball. My educational philosophy is to create a positive learning environment for all of my students. I create this environment by introducing a wide variety of fun and challenging physical activities that are geared toward student success. I believe that through a positive physical education program, my students will develop lifelong habits of physical fitness and health. In my free time I enjoy traveling, hiking, and participating in a wide variety of sports.

The Baltimore County Visual Arts Program is aligned with the Maryland State Standards for Visual Arts and guided by Blueprint 2.0. Its mission is to educate all students in creative thinking, creative production, and the artistic process, while developing their understanding and appreciation of the artistic achievements of people from different times, places, and cultures.  Students, while immersed in the artistic process, develop skills in creative problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.  These 21st Century Skills prepare students to be globally competitive citizens.  Technology is infused in lessons, which are rigorous, relevant, and responsive to the individual needs of all students.

I have been an art educator for 20+ years and most of those years have been at Warren Elementary. Our students are always busy creating things in Studio 19. In the spring, we will celebrate student artwork by displaying their masterpieces throughout the hallways for all to see and enjoy. STREAM Night is a special evening where families are invited to come to school and students can show of their creations in science, technology, reading, engineering, art and math. So plan to come and see your child’s work, it’s always a wonderful evening!

Volunteers are always welcome in the art studio. Please email me, if you are interested in helping out. I can always use an extra hand in preparing for an art class, help with displays or you are welcome to come in to help during your child's class time. Volunteers are required to do the Volunteer Training.
