Special Area Teachers

Mr. Jeff Dyke

     Jeff Dyke

My name is Jeff Dyke and I am entering my ninth year teaching physical education at Warren Elementary School. I received my teaching degree from McDaniel College, where I also played four years of college baseball. My educational philosophy is to create a positive learning environment for all of my students. I create this environment by introducing a wide variety of fun and challenging physical activities that are geared toward student success. I believe that through a positive physical education program, my students will develop lifelong habits of physical fitness and health. In my free time I enjoy traveling, hiking, and participating in a wide variety of sports.

The Baltimore County Visual Arts Program is aligned with the Maryland State Standards for Visual Arts and guided by Blueprint 2.0. Its mission is to educate all students in creative thinking, creative production, and the artistic process, while developing their understanding and appreciation of the artistic achievements of people from different times, places, and cultures.  Students, while immersed in the artistic process, develop skills in creative problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.  These 21st Century Skills prepare students to be globally competitive citizens.  Technology is infused in lessons, which are rigorous, relevant, and responsive to the individual needs of all students.  The visual arts program is focused on all children and the whole child.

I have been an art educator for over 20 years now and half of those years have been at Warren. Our students are always busy creating things in Studio 19. In the spring, the student work will be displayed throughout the hallways for all to see and enjoy. Each student, from every grade, will have a piece of artwork on display for this special evening. So plan to come and see your child's artwork, it’s always a wonderful evening!

Volunteers are always welcome in the art studio. Please email me, if you are interested in helping out. I can always use an extra hand in preparing for an art class, with displays or come help during your child's class time. Volunteers are required to do the Volunteer Training. Contact me at

Mr. Mark Topper

This is my 18th year teaching vocal music in Baltimore County and my 1st year at Warren. I am excited to be here! I started playing the violin in 4th grade. I also enjoy spending time with my family, being outside, and staying active.
